Dyman Members Make Significant Impact at PDP2026: Pioneering Digital Twins for Sustainable Data Centers

The Dyman team made a notable presence at the 34th Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Network-based Processing (PDP2026), held from March 25-27, 2026. in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The conference, widely recognized as a premier European forum for parallel and distributed processing, provided a dynamic platform for the team to showcase cutting-edge research in the Track on Digital Twins for Datacenters (DT4DC).

PDP2026 addressed the full spectrum of parallel and distributed processing, from foundational theory to practical implementation across infrastructures of all scales. With the rapid evolution of the field—driven by the emergence of novel architectures and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)—the conference highlighted the dynamic fusion of parallel technologies with domains like AI, compiler design, and performance optimization.

The Dyman team’s participation was particularly significant given the track’s focus on the intersection of high-performance computing, sustainability, and digital twin technology.

Showcasing the HPC4AI Vision In the DT4DC special session, Dyman members presented a comprehensive view of their ongoing work, bridging the gap between theoretical models and industrial application. The team highlighted several key areas of their research portfolio, including:

  • Operational Digital Twins: Demonstrating real-time BIM–IoT synchronization, with a specific case study on the HPC4AI Data Center at the University of Turin.
  • Sustainability & Green HPC: Presenting findings on LEED certification for HPC facilities, preliminary life cycle assessments, and strategies for waste heat recovery and renewable energy integration.
  • Advanced Management Systems: Showcasing the HPC4AI@UNITO use case for active management of self-cooled data centers and the development of reference architectures based on analytics control.
  • Tooling & Modeling: Introducing innovative tools such as TabWak, a watermark for tabular diffusion models, and the EIC cooling portfolio strategic plan.

The special session underscored the importance of collaboration between academic research and industrial deployment. Dyman’s presentations provided critical insights into how digital twins can drive energy efficiency and resource optimization in next-generation data centers, addressing some of the most pressing challenges in the sector today.
